What is a dust mite? A dust mite is a microscopic organism that looks like a spider with a fat round body, and it feeds on our dead skin cells. Dust mites are usually only around .3mm big and they live for about 4 months in their favorite location, your mattress. They lay up to 300 eggs in one lifetime and excrete over 200 times their weight in waste.
